PhD Candidate
University of New Brunswick, Saint John

Picture

Welcome!

My name is Lauren Rowsey and I am a PhD candidate at the University of New Brunswick Saint John under the supervision of Dr. Ben Speers-Roesch. I completed my BSc at the University of Texas at Austin where I carried out research with Dr. Andrew Esbaugh on how oil exposure impacts the physiology and behavior of larval fish. My PhD thesis focuses on the potential physiological drivers of winter dormancy in fish with particular emphasis on exercise performance, digestion, and metabolism. When I’m not doing research, you can find me participating in one of too many hobbies: sailing, mountain biking, longboarding, paddleboarding, or gardening.
